Time Baby V12g: New sleep mode for MP3 player

Information
Quote:
This latest build will carry a new sleep mode for Time Baby's MP3 player. As Art elaborates via the application's changelog:
MP3 Player sleep mode implemented. PSP is suspended at the end of the playlist ready for the
alarm function to wake it up in the morning. Playlist is restarted on wake up, as well alarm sounding.
MP3 Player will stop current track in single track mode, or skip to next track in playlist mode
when the PSP is woken from suspend with the mp3 player active.
Implemented support for special config file that will cause the MP3 Player to be clocked at 333/333/166 MHz.
The second last byte can be changed to any value other than zero with a hex editor to use the fast CPU speed.
Pause button on the headphone remote will announce the time once when the track is paused.
Headphone remote can be plugged in at any time now the serial port is only activated in GPS time set mode.
Various code fixes.

prxutility v2.0 - now with new menus, battery information

Information
Quote:
pspflashsystem's prxutility has proven itself to be quite useful for those who are quite mindful of their PSP's battery juice. The recently updated application is once again revised, with some helpful additions: a more accessible Help menu and a new menu that gives more info about your PSP's battery.

Check out the changelog below (as translated from French by our trusty weblator) for more details about the changes:
The Help menu is now accessible by pressing L + NOTE simultaneously and left alone. After a while...
You can now access a new menu that tells you about your battery (such as level of charge and hours remaining before unloading your batter, the temperature of your battery, the voltage of your battery, battery status, it also tells you if your battery is present or not and if the AC adapter is connected to the PSP or not). This menu is accessed by pressing buttons simultaneously [VOLUP + NOTE]
Corrections of a few minor bugs
Best legibility of menus
As always, you need to go through the readme file first to get more information about how to install this application. But since its written in French, you may need to run it through a translator. Enjoy!

pspKaraoke

Information
Quote:
homebrew developer Hyve 647846 just came up with a PSP application that can let your PSP play MP3+G files, basically turning your handheld into a portable karaoke machine.

Dubbed pspKaraoke, this MP3+G player can let users change the background image by replacing the default BG.PNG file with an image of their choice (provided that it's in .PNG format, of course). Also, Hyve 647846 plans to add a slideshow feature in the future, that will run while the song is playing, just like most earlier karaoke machines.

Stumped on how to get this nifty program to work? Here's some useful tips quoted from the homebrew developer:

//The player will play songs from the MP3G folder. The songs have to be named m1.mp3, m2.mp3, …mX.mp3 with a corresponding m1.cdg. The ‘1' will be used as the song number.

PSP Rhythm 3.0

Information
[quote]Inspired by classic drum machines such as the Linndrum and Roland TR-series, PSP Rhythm has been created to use the simple, yet effective 16 step style drum sequencer. PSP Rhythm incorporates the use of audio sample playback instead of drum synthesis. PSP Rhythm has been directly influenced by one of our favorite modern drum machines, the Elektron MachineDrum. The most significant is our use of "parameter locks" (as used by the MachineDrum). Parameter locks enable you to change the pitch, volume, balance, start and end time per step to create moving, changing melodies and effects. This control over your sounds will give you much more creative freedom and allow you to not only use drums, but to use instruments in your music.

* Added support for 3.80M33-2, M33-4 & M33-5. Pls note M33-1 & M33-3 are not supported due to some technical issues which I'm lazy to resolve.
* Added support for 3.80 Popsloader Version 2. Version 1 isn't supported.
* The 1.5 Kernel Addon for 3.71M33 & 3.80M33 has caused some incompatibility issues with fw 1.5 iR Shell. This is now resolved.
* Enhance PSP ISO compatability. Previously failed ISOs will probably work in this release.
* For slim only, the nethostfs MAX mode is now compatible with WPA.
* Some older firmware supports have been removed to reduce the distribution archive. This version has support for fw 1.5, 3.10 to 3.80. Also, directories EXTAPP15 & EXTAPP3X have been combined into a single EXTAPP to save space. Each APP# directory has 2 EBOOTs, with EBOOT.PBP for fw 3.x and EBOOT15.PBP for fw 1.5.

FreeRadio v1.7

Information
[quote]FreePlay's ever-useful FreeRadio, the server-free Internet homebrew radio portal for the PSP, is finally updated with several additions, including the support for custom plug-ins. And that's not all: to make browsing easier for users, FreePlay also made some changes on the portal in such a way that the web browser and bookmark links will open a new tab.

Check out the changelog below for more details:

* Added support for custom plugins. Included an example - a two-channel equalizer that displays beneath the 'stop' button. For an example of how plugins work, open X:radiopluginsequalize r.plugin in your favorite text editor.
o Plugins are self-contained JavaScript files, so if you're any good with that, you can easily make your own plugins. FreeRadio will automatically load any plugin files stored in the X:radioplugins folder with a filename ending in '.plugin'. The only requirements for a plugin are 'load' and 'start' functions and a variable named 'started'. The rest is up to you.
o Plugins are only loaded in the Shoutcast, Stream, and Playlist views; this is because rest either don't play audio or might not always look the same (since podcasts and RSS can use HTML).
* The web browser and bookmark links now open in a new tab, rather than the current one.

As always, do make it a point to go over the readme file before installing or updating FreePlay. Enjoy the download![/QOUTE]

PSP Spreadsheet 1.0.0

Quote:
Pucelano has produced the first fully functional spreadsheet for the PSP called the PSP Spreadsheet v1.00. This program looks to be very well made and offers most of the functionalities one would expect from such an application.

Obviously, the basic operations are all present and accounted for. In addition to this, the coder has implemented multiple functions which streamline calculations and simplifies management of the different cells. Here's a list of features that have been implemented in this build:

Format cells options: Font, size, bold, color, decimals, alignment and superpose.
The integrated functions are named and work like those of Excel (by now only spanish version), to facilitate the exchange of files and the learning.
Exchange of files with Excel, using txt files.
Show or hide gridlines.
Turn on-off theUSB connection.
Save screenshoots in MemoryStick.
Possibility of changing the columns width.
Cut-Copy-Paste-Delete the content of the cells.
Clock and indicator of battery on screen.
The program and manual are both in Spanish though, so if you don't speak the language, you may have a hard time with the program. However, if you can wait a few days. Pucelano has promised to release an english version of the program complete with an english manual.

* Edit functionality added to "Configuration" screen. While in Configuration screen, scroll down untill the line that needs to be edited is on top. Press [X] to enter the edit mode. You can use up/down arrows to increment/decrement current character by 1.
* Use [START] to save or [SELECT] to cancel the edit.
* New current position prediction logic, hopefully resulting in smoother scrolling.
* A few rendering bug fixes in graphics routines.
* New parameters added to configuration file: STARTUPFREQUENCY, STARTUPSCREENMODE, NIGHTMODE, SPEEDLIMIT.
* SATINFOFREQUENCY defines cpu frequency on Satellite Info screen (PSP-290 only)
* Timezone parameter removed from configuration, timezone is determined based on your psp date/time settings.
* Localization support (language packs).
* PSP-290 version does not require prx files to run in non-gps mode.
* Attached sorce code adopted to the latest verison of PSPSDK

And in case you're using a Holux GPS, Deniska further added this note:

One of the main compaints of the holux users is the lack of sound, since the plug, required for serial connection, automatically mutes PSP's speakers.
Mr7 just dropped in with this easy solution:
"Chop off the tip of the audio plug"
I tried it on 2 of my cablesand it works just fine..

That's the rough on Map This!'s latest release. We strongly recommend would-be users to view the readme included in the file bundle - most of the information you need is available there. On a last note, the author (via the readme) is requesting users to view Google Map's "Terms of Use" agreement, given that Map This! receives its image data from the said service.

Dow 0.1

Quote:
We've seen a good number of homebrew releases from PlayStation Portable developer bumuckl and today, the coder has released another one. It's a homebrew application called Dow! that will let you make "develop on the go."

As the name suggests, this homebrew application allows users to write code on their Sony handhelds, as it provides a good number of code snippets for easy use. Since this is the initial release, Dow! still has its share of bugs and bumuckl notes that saved scripts can't be re-edited. Anyway, here are the planned functions for the app (from the readme):

safe [sic] in all kinds of files (LUA,HTML...)
open up previous saved or written files
improving the snippets
more support while creating scripts
export your projects
better compability [sic] to other LUAPlayers or Firmwares.
The dev also notes that Dow! works on custom firmwares on the Phat and currently doesn't work for Slim. Check it out by clicking the download below …
